Grant Writing Challenge 2024: Winners

The winners of this year's Grant Writing Challenge as part of the Advanced Scientific Training Module are

 

 

  • Camille Barro (Stöger Lab, LHI), CARMA: influence of the genetic Correction of Alveolar epithelial cells Regarding Macrophages polarisation supporting Alveolar wound repair in the context of STAT3-Hyper IgE Syndrome
  • Deepesh Dhakad (Yildirim-Conlon Lab, LHI), Memoirs of a Dying Mitochondrion: COPD and Beyond
  • Julian Vogler (Michler Lab, LMU Klinikum), Development of an antiviral siRNA-aptamer chimera for targeted delivery to the lung

Each third-year doctoral candidate chose a topic that was related, but not identical with their Ph.D. project and wrote a grant proposal. These proposals were then reviewed by three peers each and by the Research School Faculty (Roxana Wasnick, Theodore Kapellos, Maja Funk, Markus Diefenbacher, Markus Rehberg, Aicha Jeridi, Malte Lücken). In an Elevator Pitch Meeting, the doctoral candidates presented their ideas.

The winners will be able to order 2000 Euros worth of consumables for their proposed projects, thanks to the DZL, which hereby is gratefully acknowledged.
